About Marci
I have always believed beginnings are important.
Not because they determine where we are going, but because they help explain how we got here. And if there is one thing I have learned, it is that the most meaningful journeys are rarely the ones we planned.
My own journey has taken me through nonprofit leadership, fundraising, writing, food systems, wellness, entrepreneurship, and community building. Along the way, I have founded organizations, developed programs, secured funding, built partnerships, written stories, and spent countless hours around tables where some of life's most important conversations happen.
Much of that journey began when my two-year-old daughter was diagnosed with a rare leukemia. Faced with uncertainty, I found myself searching for answers, hope, and something I could do to help. What I discovered was the power of food—not as a miracle cure, but as a powerful tool for nourishment, resilience, connection, and healing.
That discovery changed the course of my life.
It inspired me to found Time For Life, a nonprofit serving children with cancer and their families. It shaped my work in community health and food systems. It led to The Power of Food platform and continues to influence my writing, speaking, consulting, and leadership today.
Over the years, I have come to believe that food is never just food. It is community. It is culture. It is dignity. It is comfort. It is opportunity. It is often the thread that connects people to one another during both celebrations and challenges.
Today, whether I am helping a nonprofit grow, writing a story, developing a partnership, speaking to an audience, or sharing a meal around the table, I am guided by the same belief: when we nourish people, we strengthen communities, and when communities thrive, meaningful change becomes possible.
Building organizations. Telling stories. Nourishing people and communities. Creating lasting impact.
Welcome. I'm glad you're here.
