<image:title>Home - Why I Believe in The Power of Food</image:title>
<image:caption>People often ask me why I believe so deeply in the power of food. The answer begins more than thirty years ago when my two-year-old daughter was diagnosed with a rare leukemia. Like many parents facing the unimaginable, I found myself searching for answers, hope, and something I could do to help. What I discovered was food. Not as a miracle cure, but as something powerful. A way to nourish, strengthen, comfort, connect, and support healing. The more I learned, the more I became fascinated by the profound relationship between food, health, resilience, and community. That journey shaped the course of my life. It led me to found a nonprofit serving children with cancer and their families. It inspired The Power of Food platform. It influenced my work in food systems, wellness, writing, community development, and nonprofit leadership. Along the way, I learned that food is never just food. It is culture, connection, dignity, opportunity, and care. Today, whether I am building organizations, developing partnerships, securing funding, writing stories, creating programs, or standing in a kitchen, I remain guided by the same belief: when we nourish people, we strengthen communities, and when communities thrive, meaningful change becomes possible. That is the power of food. And that is the work that continues to inspire me every day.</image:caption>
